Charity Dog Walk

Lets make a Date - 30th Dec  2019 - our 1st charity dog walk

The Forth Inn "Dog-Friendly Pub of the Year 2018" runner up in 2017 & 2019 and we would like to win it again in 2020!

We do hope Christmas has gone great for you this year.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our 1st Charity Dog Walk from the pub on the 30th Dec 2019

Registration will be from 10.15am

Start will be 11am

Cobwebs need to be blown away, hangover getting rid of etc etc but most importantly we are raising a few quid for charity, so come along and get involved, please.

WHATS HAPPENING...

There are ample car parking facilities at the Forth Inn although it is a relatively easy walk from the abundant car parking in Aberfoyle village which just happens to be right next to us!

  • Registration is a from 10.15 am at The Forth Inn (in the old Coffee Shop)
  • The Walk will start at 11am
  • You have a choice of two routes (we have maps):
  • a Short-ish one &
  • a Long-ish one!  neither is particularly difficult.
  • Before you leave we have a Childrens Facepainter available who can add a little sparkle to the walk.
  • When you return we will have a steaming hot bowl of soup waiting for you served by the wonderful Aberfoyle Village People and then we have a few talks from:
  •  We are looking for a local-ish Dog Groomer can you help? Please get intouch if you can.
  • and...... if you have not spent up over Christmas we will have a few stalls with Doggy Gifts for sale.
  • finally, we have been running a Childrens drawing competition so we need to choose a winner!

Time to mention the charity

http://www.tigerawareness.co.uk/

Dogs helping Cats now thats novel!

Anyway, a local young man asked if we would consider sponsoring the 'Tiger Awareness Charity' and we thought why not, its a great cause, and to top it off he said he would say a few words about the charity and why he wants to help the Tigers.

All we are asking is £5 per family... (I know we are all one big happy family but please its for Charity)

Not everyone has a dog

It’s true, not everyone has a dog but... this is meant to be inclusive not exclusive to Dog owners!

Don't let that be an issue for you. This for you is a day to be social with your pals, blow the cobwebs away and enjoy a day in the countryside... and most importantly make a contribution to a charity, a nice way to end the year.

Be Cautious...

There's also plenty of exploring for Fido to do as he transports himself to his "Inner Wolf"...well we can all daydream, can't we?  Just remember that 'Inner wolves" occasionally "Need The Lead" so make sure it's handy and on that note here is a link to the Scottish Outdoor access code with a bit specifically about Dog Walking. Please ensure your dog is under control per the Dangerous Dogs Act.

 STAY With us...

If you choose to stay with us at The Forth Inn, we have already uploaded a special price for the evening of the 29th (which just happens to be our Quiz Night if you fancy a challenge)

The best place to reserve a room is on-line (top right of this page) and of course the dog will get to stay for FREE. (Just bring a towel & Bedding for your dog please.

What do I need to bring...

• Yourself and your dog!

• A suitable harness / collar and lead

• Outdoor clothes to suit our location (best if they are waterproof) and waterproof boots/gators or wellies!

 • bags of enthusiasm!!

Whats not included ..

• Insurance

There are a few things you should know about Aberfoyle and this is one of them;

Aberfoyle is a Dog Walkers Paradise... there i've said it.

From the pub we have access to over 300km of forest trails, more than you can shake a stick at. You can walk to the top of Ben Lomond and back from the pub using different routes for most of it (we are not asking you to do that, thats a marathon, not a walk in the woods!)

Here is my point, these 3 images were taken within 5 mins and are all within 20mtrs of each other, none of them planned and they are all locals, this place is made for it, come and join them.

Well, I guess it's over to you!

Get in touch using the form below, ask any questions you want and I will get back to you ASAP
