Dukes Pass

Mountain Bike
Noun
A bicycle with a light sturdy frame, broad deep-treaded tyres, and multiple gears, originally designed for riding on mountainous terrain.

Has it ever crossed you mind why an area with over 300km of forest trails, if I’m right and I think I am, the largest network of accessible trails in Britain!… with mountains, rivers and lochs keeps getting overlooked for places further away? Well it has mine.

It’s taken many years of perseverance and pressure but now it’s happening and it’s gonna be big.

Mountain Biking/Gravel Riding in and around Aberfoyle is happening and it’s here to stay.

We are on course to having some of the best Mountain Biking experiences that you can get and they are literally on your doorstep…. 25 mins from Stirling, 45 mins from Glasgow and only an hour from Edinburgh. Brilliant.

Here’s a thought: within 300mtrs of the big car park in the centre of Aberfoyle you can take access into the forest and Mountain Bike to the TOP of Ben Lomond around 14 miles away and return on a different route ALL WITHOUT crossing a public road….Just a thought, I’m not advocating you should do it!. (Definitely don’t do it if you can’t read a map coz you will get lost!)

Scary routes have been established only for those who are very experienced, through to very easy routes for those with NO experience, we have a Bike Park for you to hone your skills (with Black, Blue & Orange sections) great for teaching younger ones before you head off into the woods and to the trails.

The Trossachs is a place where Mountain Biking/Gravel Riding is perfect in all seasons, from the fabulous colours of Autumn foliage to the freshness of Spring, the warmth and lushness of Summer and the clear crisp and snowy days of Winter. In fact a cycle through a landscape in summer will feel incredibly different if done in Spring, Autumn or Winter… so what are you waiting for?
